New (but familiar) empanada restaurant coming to Covington
A Findlay Market empanada shop will soon open its own storefront in Covington.
Owners of the Empanada's Box, which offers empanadas inspired by different places around the world, graduated from the Findlay Launch Storefront Accelerator Program this week. According to a Findlay Market Instagram post, the Empanada's Box will operate at the historic Over-the-Rhine marketplace for its last time on Sunday, June 12.

On Facebook, the business said it will open its new Northern Kentucky storefront, located at 212 W. Pike St., on June 22.
"We greatly appreciate all the support we've received the past nine months, and we will greatly miss being in the market district," its website read. "But don't worry, we're just a quick bridge ride across the river in Covington, KY."
The Empanada's Box offers empanadas inspired by a variety locations, including California, the Philippines and Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Cinci-Chili empanada is stuffed with ground beef, onion, tomato, cheese and Cincinnati-style chili seasoning. You can also purchase frozen packs of empanadas, drinks and foreign goods.
