WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — School is out and sledding is in! Many local families were out enjoying the snow on Friday.
For some people, snow means shoveling and cleaning off your car but for the kids and parents 28/22 News spoke with Friday, it means getting outside and going sledding.
“We’re playing in the snow and going on the sleds,” said Cynthia Rinish from Kingston.
Rinish and her siblings spent their snow day checking out the sledding conditions at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre.
“Just having a good time going sledding with my family, we came here to do that and have fun,” said Zaley Rinish from Kingston.
And they weren’t alone in their endeavors.
“My name is Issac,” said Issac from Wilkes-Barre.
“Where are you from Issac what town?” asked 28/22 News reporter Amelia Sack.
“The North Pole, we went sleigh riding,” answered Issac.
Another family 28/22 News spoke with was happy to see more snow on Friday.
“We love the snow we love when it snows. We were just talking about that. we couldn’t wait.
a little sledding on his day off,” said Chris Corbett from Wyoming.
Corbett and his son Luke enjoy spending the time together and getting a workout in while they’re at it.
I’m gonna do all my work when I get home cause I just have math left. We’re just sledding and having fun in the snow,” added Luke.
So nice to see so many kids out and having fun Friday. That’s really what it’s all about.
