VIC CARTER: And I'm Vic Carter. Amy Kawata joins us now live tonight.

And Amy, of course you spoke with the family of Efraim Gordon after learning of these arrests. Tell us about that.

AMY KAWATA: Vic and Nicole, family members of Efraim Gordon say it's been a challenging month. But now, they feel a sense of relief. And most of all, they say they're grateful for the community coming together to help catch the suspect.

Now, Baltimore police say they have arrested three suspects in connection to the murder of Efraim Gordon-- 18-year-old William Clinton III, a 17-year-old, and a 16-year-old. Gordon was shot and killed in north Baltimore in the early morning hours on May 3 while standing on his aunt and uncle's doorstep in the 3700 block of Fords Lane.

Police say through video footage and physical evidence, investigators were able to identify the three suspects and obtain arrest warrants. Both Mayor Brandon Scott and Councilman Yitzy Schleifer commending the diligent work of detectives in this case. And as family members of Gordon continue to heal, they say this is not over yet, and hope justice will be served in court.

SARAH MARSHALL: This is a step toward healing for us. My cousin was full of life, and he was murdered. And it just wasn't right that those that murdered him would be out on the streets and get to live.

AMY KAWATA: And all three suspects are charged with first degree murder, and currently being held without bond.

Live tonight, I'm Amy Kawata for WJZ.
