Family facing emotional, financial hardships asks Goodfellows for help

Mary’s family has four members, herself, husband Raul and their two children, 7-year-old Alejandro and 4-year-old Mateo. Their home is filled with love. It is also filled with challenges.

Raul suffers from pancreatic cancer and cannot work. Mary takes care of him round the clock, making it next to impossible for her to find employment.

“I have tried to look for work but because of the hours it is difficult for me,” Mary said.

Along with the physical and emotional hardships the family faces are financial difficulties. They want to provide for their children, and to do so they simply need help.

The Goodfellow Fund specializes in helping in such situations. The Star-Telegram charity has been there for families like Mary’s for over a century.

This year the fund is providing $50 gift cards to make the holidays a little better. They can be used to purchase clothing and/or shoes for children like Mary’s.

“For me, your donations would be very helpful,” she humbly said.
