Family-friendly Halloween events in Pensacola: From trunk-or-treats to Halloween markets

With the fall air nipping at our heels, it’s time to get into the spooky spirit.

This year there are plenty of family-friendly ways to celebrate Halloween, starting as early as Oct. 8 with the First City Art Center’s 16th annual Pumpkin Patch.

Below, you’ll find everything from trunk-or-treats to arts and craft events happening in the Pensacola area.

First City Art Center’s 16th annual Pumpkin Patch

  • When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 8

  • Where: Admiral Fetterman Field at Blue Wahoos Stadium, 351 W. Cedar St.

The First City Art Center returns with its glass and ceramic pumpkin patch at the Blue Wahoos Stadium. This event features thousands of hand-blown glass and handcrafted ceramic pumpkins to choose from. Each pumpkin is unique and individually made by a local artist. The Blue Wahoos concessions and bar will be open during the event. The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority water truck will also be present to provide free water to guests. Prices for pumpkins begin at $20.

Gallery Night

  • When: 5 to 9 p.m., Oct. 21

  • Where: Downtown Pensacola

Gallery Night needs no introduction at this point. This month’s theme is “Fright Night,” and will highlight the spooky season. October’s featured artist is a collective of artists, members of the Pensacola Muralists. View live paintings created by members Caroline Holland, Eniko Ujj, Patty Sauces and Dylan Nadsady throughout the evening. And, of course, this night is the perfect opportunity to dress up and show off your Halloween costume this year.

Beach-o-Ween

  • When: 4 to 8 p.m., Oct. 21

  • Where: Pensacola Beach Boardwalk, 1 Via de Luna Dr.

The fourth Beach-o-Ween Halloween showcase is a family-friendly event that highlights businesses on the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk while celebrating the holiday. There will be decorated booths and games fit for people of all ages, a bounce house for kids, face painting and a photo booth.

Cokesbury United Methodist Church Trunk or Treat

  • When: 5:45 to 7 p.m., Oct. 26

  • Where: Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 5725 N. Ninth Ave.

The Cokesbury United Methodist Church is hosting a trunk-or-treat open to everyone. There will be music, games and, of course, candy.

Marine Corps League 1st annual Trunk-or-Treat

  • When: 6 p.m., Oct. 28

  • Where: Veterans Memorial Park Pensacola

The Marines Corps League will hold its first trunk-or-treat event at Veterans Memorial Park. The league is inviting veteran-owned businesses and organizations to set up pop-up tents to hand out treats to children.

Halloween at Laguna’s

  • When: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Oct. 29

  • Where: Laguna’s Adventure Park at Laguna’s Beach Bar and Grill, 460 Pensacola Beach Blvd.

Laguna’s is putting on a family-friendly Halloween event that has a little something for everyone. A three-hour pass for the park is $34 and gets attendees access to the zip rails, ropes course, Clip n’ Climb, go karts, bounce house, basketball and mini golf. There’s also glitter tattoos, pumpkin painting, live music and football on the big screen. Pumpkin carving contests will be judged in five categories and there will be a costume contest judged in three categories.

Harleyween Truck-or-Treat!

  • When: Noon, Oct. 29

  • Where: Pensacola Harley-Davidson, 6385 Pensacola Blvd.

Pensacola Harley-Davidson is hosting a "truck-or-treat" packed with free goodies for everyone. Out 2 Impress Truck Club will have their trucks decorated as they hand out candy to kids. There will be free face painting, crafts, pumpkin decorating and a bounce house. Two Birds Street Food will serve food from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wrighteous Eats will serve food from 3 to 7 p.m., Harley’s Angels will serve a variety of free drinks for everyone and Rock and Roll Ice Cream will be on site for cold treats. Trophies will be awarded for the best costumes throughout the day.

Blue Angel Baptist Church Trunk-or-Treat

  • When: 4 to 6 p.m., Oct. 29

  • Where: Blue Angel Baptist Church, 10900 W. U.S. Highway 98

Blue Angel Baptist Church is hosting a drive-thru trunk-or-treat event on Oct. 29.

Palafox Market Halloween Market

  • When: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 29

  • Where: Palafox Market, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Plaza, between Chase and Gregory streets.

Palafox Market is encouraging kids to come out and dress up in their most outrageous costumes for a special Halloween market edition. Vendor booths will be decorated for the holiday and offer candy to trick-or-treaters. Kids can have their faces painted and there will be candy prizes for the winners of a costume contest and Halloween-themed scavenger hunt. Two of Winterfest’s most iconic characters, Pumpkinhead and the Grinch, will also be in attendance.

Trunk-or-Treat with Arts & Crafts

  • When: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Oct. 29

  • Where: Days Inn & Suites Navarre Conference Center, 8700 Navarre Parkway, Navarre

The Greater Navarre Area Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual trunk-or-treat event on Oct. 29 at the Days Inn & Suites Navarre Conference Center. This year there will be a little something for everyone. There will be a haunted maze and candy for kids, arts and crafts for parents and a dance off for teens. DJ Ghost will be playing live music and there will be food trucks to satiate appetites.

Trunk-or-Treating at the Eatery

  • When: 5 to 7 p.m., Oct. 29

  • Where: The Eatery, 1713 Woodlawn Way, Gulf Breeze

The Eatery is wasting no time giving back to the community as it gears up for its first trunk-or-treat. The food truck park will have candy, games, food trucks and prizes.

Momentum Kids Trunk-or-Treat

  • When: 11 a.m., Oct. 30

  • Where: The Breeze Cinema 8, 1233 Crane Cove Blvd., Gulf Breeze

Momentum Kids will host its annual trunk-or-treat event on Oct. 30 at The Breeze Cinema 8. Trunks will be decorated and will hand out candy for trick-or-treaters. Food trucks will also be on site.

Halloween Trunk or Treat at House of Triad

  • When: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Oct. 30

  • Where: House of Triad, 7004 Pine Forest Road

The House of Triad is also hosting its first annual trunk-or-treat. The salon and spa will be decked out with animatronics, blow-ups and decorations. Trunk-or-treating will happen from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with games and giveaways. The kids’ Halloween contest is at 4 p.m. and an adults’ contest will happen at 6 p.m. Spooky snacks and drinks are available for everyone, with alcoholic drinks available for those 21 and up.

Scenic Hills Church of Christ Trunk-or-Treat

  • When: 5 to 7 p.m., Oct. 30

  • Where: Scenic Hills Church of Christ, 1295, E. Nine Mile Road

Scenic Hills Church of Christ will have a trunk-or-treat event in its parking lot on Oct. 30. The trunks will be set up in the lot facing Nine Mile Road.

Beulah Church Trunk-or-Treat

  • When: 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31

  • Where: Beulah Church, 7561 Mobile Highway

Beulah Church will have its trunk-or-treat event on Oct. 31. There will be an inflatable slide, hay ride, hotdogs, cotton candy, popcorn, a giveaway and candy.

3rd annual Sneaky Tiki Spooktacular

  • When: 6 to 9 p.m., Oct. 31

  • Where: 8344 Sphere Way, Pensacola

Sneaky Tiki Shaved Ice is hosting its third spooky event, the Sneaky Tiki Spooktacular. This family-friendly event offers free shaved ice, candy, decorations, animatronics, fog, lights, sound effects and more.
