It's been nearly two years since 12-year-old Kentayvia Blackful was shot and killed inside of her home in Harvey.

KENTNILLA BLACKFUL: There was one loud noise, and then it stopped. And we're looking, then next thing you know, shots just got through ringing through our house.

ALEXIS MCADAMS: The sixth grader murdered on her birthday.

KENTNILLA BLACKFUL: That's when I seen that she was struck in the head. I'm here with you. Just hold on. Just fight.

ALEXIS MCADAMS: Since September of 2019, Kentayvia's mom has been waiting for an arrest.

KENTNILLA BLACKFUL: Why is nothing happening for my baby? Why is nothing happening with her case, when we have evidence? We have suspects.

ALEXIS MCADAMS: Tonight, Harvey Police telling ABC7 they have two murder suspects and plenty of evidence.

JOSEPH JOHN MOSELY: In my eyes, do I believe we have enough to charge? Certainly.

ALEXIS MCADAMS: But, still no charges filed. Detectives say they've been talking to the Cook County state's attorney's office.

JOSEPH JOHN MOSELY: We called for charges. The state's attorney said, we need a gun. Well, this is two years later.

ALEXIS MCADAMS: Harvey Police Commander Mosley tells me the two suspects are now pointing the finger at each other.

JOSEPH JOHN MOSELY: We had both the suspects saying the other guy did it. And they won't charge one.

KENTNILLA BLACKFUL: The state's attorney is still saying that she's not pressing charges. She don't know which one to charge.

ALEXIS MCADAMS: The family showing up today to talk to police.

KENTNILLA BLACKFUL: I'm not going to stop until they're charged, until we get them arrested for my daughter's murder.

ALEXIS MCADAMS: Tonight, the Cook County state's attorney's office tells ABC7 they are in contact with the victim's family, and are working with the Harvey Police Department on this case. They couldn't comment any further because it's an active investigation.
