Family to host red carpet premiere for 'Asteroid City'

Jun. 19—HICKORY — The family of local child actor Brayden Frasure is hosting a red carpet premiere for Wes Anderson's upcoming movie "Asteroid City" on Thursday, June 22 at the AMC Hickory 15 in Hickory.

Brayden stars in the movie as a young boy named Billy. In September last year, he joined a star-studded cast in Spain and was lucky enough to meet the likes of Tom Hanks, Scarlet Johansson, Maya Hawke, and many other A-list actors.

"Asteroid City" takes place in a fictional American desert town during the 1950s where a junior stargazer convention is "spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events," according to FocusFeatures.com.

Brayden's first acting gig was for a Panera Bread commercial, and later he played a small role in the movie "A Happening of Monumental Proportions" (2017). He also starred in "Peel" (2019) as the titular character's younger self.
