Crawford’s sister, Christy Johnson, said Karen left work around 11 on Thursday, Feb. 15. The last purchase on her credit card was in the area around Fashion Place Mall soon after, and there has been no activity since then, according to Johnson.

“No phone calls, no response,” Johnson told ABC4.com. “She has been struggling with her mental health, which is very concerning to us.”

According to Johnson, the family took action immediately, with Crawford’s husband filing a report with Tooele City Police on Thursday. Johnson also said Crawford’s coworkers have been looking for her.

“She is loved and supported,” Johnson said. “It’s living hell to not know where she’s at when we have so many people that love and care about her, cheering for her.”

Johnson said she reached out to an agency, and the way she understood their response was that Crawford appears to be an adult who just left on her own, since Crawford was in her own car and there were not any suspicious vehicles nearby.

“She’s a vulnerable adult. She has a diagnosed mental illness,” Johnson said. “It is her well-being and safety, and it should be very serious.”

Johnson noted the fact that there are alerts for missing children and elderly people who go missing.

“Why don’t we have an alert for someone with mental illness when we know they’re at risk for self-harm?” Johnson asked. “We need it.”

People who are close with Crawford have been posting on social media, asking people who may have information on her whereabouts to reach out.

“It’s a frustrating place to be as a family,” Johnson said.

“I just want to find her,” Johnson said.
