The Boca Raton and Delray Beach areas have attracted several celebrities through the years.
From the world of music there's pop star Ariana Grande, Jason Bonham (son of Led Zepplin drummer John Bonham) and Marilyn Manson.
They've had comedians and actors (Adam Sandler and Keith James) and, well, Carrot Top.
From the world of sports, there are tennis stars Coco Gauff, Steffi Graf and Chris Evert, NFL legends Randy Moss and Cris Carter. Arguably the greatest soccer star who ever played, Lionel Messi, almost made the list. After he signed to play for Inter Miami FC, he was looking to live in Boca, but ultimately decided on Fort Lauderdale.
Here's a look at all the celebrities who live or who have lived in Delray Beach or Boca Raton.
Jozy Altidore
The soccer star grew up in Boca and went on to play in the Major League Soccer league and then various teams overseas, including Spain's Villareal (of La Liga) and Hull City (of the English Premier League). He scored his first professional goal at 16 years old in 2006 with the New York MetroStars.
Jason Bonham
Bonham, who is legit second-generation rock royalty as the son of late Led Zeppelin drummer John, lives in Delray and used to live in Boca Raton.
Chris Carrabba
Dashboard Confessional’s emo pioneer got his start here locally, and played the former Ray’s Downtown Blues club while he still worked at a Boca elementary school.
Carrot Top
Born Scott Thompson, he is a stand-up comedian known for his use of props and an actor. He attended Florida Atlantic University in Boca, where he appeared in his first standup routine. He's had a residency comedy show at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas since 2005.
Cris Carter
The former wide receiver and Hall of Famer has lived in Boca Raton for years. He played 16 seasons in the NFL, playing his last season with the Miami Dolphins.
Dion DiMucci
The veteran rocker and the man who almost wound up on the flight that killed Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens, hails from the Bronx, but he and wife Susan, who inspired his hit “Runaround Sue,” have been known to run around Boca when they’re not up north.
Chris Evert
The former tennis star has lived in Boca for years. She won 18 Grand Slam singles championships during her career and now runs the Everrt Tennis Academy with her brother John at Mission Bay west of Boca. She was briefly married to another Palm Beach County sports star, golfer Greg Norman. Evert, 68, recently finished a 16-month battle with ovarian cancer.
Coco Gauff
The young, highly-ranked tennis star is from Delray. She had a career-high ranking of No. 4 in the world in singles and No. 1 in doubles in 2022.
Steffi Graf
One of the greatest women's tennis players in history, Graf has had a second home in Boca for years. She ended her 17-year career in 1999 having won 22 Grand Slam singles titles, 107 tournaments and spent 377 weeks at No. 1 in the world.
Ariana Grande
The huge pop star and “Problem” and "The Way" singer grew up in Boca and got her start in local theater there. She went from the Boca children’s theater to Nickelodeon to stardom. She even got hit with a hockey puck at a Florida Panthers game ... twice.

Kevin James
The star of the TV series “King of Queens” and the movie “Mall Cop” sold his Delray Beach ocean-front mansion at 502 N. Ocean Blvd. for $26.38 million in 2016. He paid $18.5 million for the house in 2012.
Randy Moss
A former NFL wide receiver and Hall of Famer, Moss has lived among the snowbirds in a modest three-bedroom house at the Polo Club of Boca Raton since 1999. He likes to fish in the creek that backs up to Military Trail.
Marilyn Manson
Born Brian Hugh Warner, he apparently lived with his parents in a west Boca townhouse on Clint Moore Road when the family moved to South Florida from Ohio. He attended Broward Community College in Fort Lauderdale, studying to be a journalist.
Nicko McBrain
The former Iron Maiden drummer now pounds out pork as the owner of Coral Spring’s Rock N Roll Ribs. He lives in Boca.
Naomi Osaka
The tennis pro, who has held the No. 1 rank and has won four Grand Slam singles titles, once lived in Boca.

Jessica Pegula
The highly-ranked tennis star has lived in Boca since she was 13. Her parents own the NFL's Buffalo Bills and NHL's Buffalo Sabres.
Adam Sandler
The actor and movie star bought a condo in Boca's Highland Beach area in 1999. Reports say it could have been for his mother. Either way, the actor known for such classics as The Wedding Singer, Happy Gilmore and The Waterboy, is sometimes seen around town. He even dropped in for a wedding photo while playing basketball in Boca.
Scott Stapp
The Creed lead singer, who recently toured with the band Art of Anarchy, lived in Boca for years but recently moved to Nashville.
