A fan was arrested at TD Garden in Boston on Sunday, May 30, after a bottle was thrown in the direction of Brooklyn Nets player Kyrie Irving, following the visiting team’s win over the Celtics.

A spokeswoman for TD Garden said the fan in question would face a lifetime ban.

In footage captured by Jesus Arias and posted on Twitter, a bottle can be seen being thrown towards Irving, a former Celtics player. He then turns toward the crowd in a bid to identify the culprit.

Speaking to the media after the game, Irving said, “As a black man playing in the NBA, dealing with a lot of this stuff, it’s fairly difficult.”

He added, "You never know what’s going to happen. It’s just unacceptable for that stuff to be happening. But we move on.”
