Fandangle brings frontier tales to life, and more this week in Abilene
ALBANY — The Fort Griffin Fandangle outdoor musical stages the first of four performances at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Shows are at the Prairie Theater, 1490 FM 1084, with additional performances at the same time Saturday and June 24-25.
The 84th annual event will feature more than 250 local performers presenting songs and stories from the region's frontier days.

In conjunction with the Fandangle, a pet parade will begin at 10 a.m. June 25 at the bank park in Albany. Pets are invited to be dressed in wild west costume, with awards presented.

Book sale
The annual Friends of the Abilene Public Library book sale will be open for regular sales from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Abilene Convention Center, 1100 N. Sixth St.
The event will continue from 1-4 p.m. Sunday with the "Bag-O-Books" sale, with each bag of books sold for $6.

Juneteenth
► Let Us Breathe's will present a three-day Juneteenth Freedom Festival starting at 6 p.m. Friday at Stevenson Park, 441 E.N. Seventh St., featuring kickball, a fish fry and music.
Festivities will continue with a welcome ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Abilene Convention Center, with a parade from there to Stevenson Park following at 10 a.m., where activities will continue through 9:30 p.m.
The festival will continue at 8 a.m. Sunday at the park, with praise service at 11 a.m. followed by a free lunch at noon, and speakers and music through 8 p.m.
► The Abilene Black Chamber of Commerce will conduct a Juneteenth celebration over two days at the Abilene Convention Center, starting with a family dance from 7:30-11:30 p.m. Friday.
The chamber's celebration will continue Saturday at the Convention Center, with events from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. including a health fair and business expo. A lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and "Showtime at the Apollo 325" will be presented at 8:30 p.m.

Recycled Regatta
Global Samaritan Resources will conduct its Recycled Regatta, with teams competing to make boats out of recycled materials, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Park at Lake Fort Phantom Hill.
Boat judging will begin at 10:30 a.m., with race heats starting at 11:30 a.m. Admission is free to spectators.
Parade of Homes
The Big Country Home Builders Association's annual Parade of Homes will be open from 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 19 homes in Abilene.

'The Mysterious Circus'
"The Mysterious Circus" — featuring acrobatics, stunts, contortionists and more — will be presented at 6 and 9 p.m. Thursday through June 25, and 3 and 6 p.m. June 26, in a tent at the Mall of Abilene.

'Hello, Dolly!'
A production of the musical "Hello, Dolly!" Will be presented at 7:30 p.m. June 24-25 and July 1-2, and at 2 p.m. June 26, at the Paramount Theatre, 352 Cypress St.

Pro wrestling
WWE Saturday Night's Main Event will begin at 7:30 p.m. June 25 in the Taylor County Expo Center's Coliseum. Featured wrestlers include Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
