  • The View co-star Whoopi Goldberg was recently interviewed in The New York Times Magazine.

  • After the 63-year-old actress told reporters that being on The View wasn't "enough" for her, rumors began to circulate that she was getting ready to leave the ABC program.

  • An ABC spokesperson has put those rumors to bed though, saying that "all" the 2019 cast members will be on the show in "the year ahead."

First, everyone was abuzz about the possibility of Meghan McCain leaving The View. Now, similar rumors are swirling about Whoopi Goldberg.

It all began after Whoopi's recent interview with The New York Times Magazine. When asked what kind of creative fulfillment she got from moderating the daytime program, she responded, "it's my job." What's more, Whoopi straight up said that her job on The View was simply not "enough" for her.

"It’s not. Ten years is a long time, and now I’m starting to do other stuff," Whoopi said.

That "other stuff" includes creating the new size-inclusive fashion line Dugbee, selling and promoting medical cannabis products, and, as she teased, penning a new book. For Whoopi, being on The View is a form of acting for her.

"In a way, I am playing a role. These are not conversations that I’m having with my friends. If they were, we’d be doing it differently. My friends and I can talk about things in depth in a different way than you can on television," she added.

Apparently, many took her responses as a sign that the Sister Act star was gearing up to leave her daytime gig. "If you leave, I will miss you very much but you do have the right to feed your soul," one fan wrote on Facebook. " I hope you move on and find happiness in every day that you are working," another said.

Wait, does this actually mean Whoopi is leaving The View?

As it turns out, View fans have nothing to worry about — at least, that's what an ABC spokesperson recently said.

"The co-hosts and The View have had an incredible season, and we expect them all back for an epic year ahead," an ABC spokesperson told multiple sources.

This is the second time in the past few weeks that The View has had to fend off cast departure rumors. In early July, a Daily Beast article ignited gossip about Meghan walking away from the show. The report stated that the conservative host was feeling "emotionally drained, angry, and isolated" and like "a caged animal" when showing up to work.

But despite all of the hearsay, it looks like both Whoopi and Meghan will be back for season 23, which will begin in September. Just like in past seasons, Whoopi, Meghan, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Ana Navarro-Cárdenas are expected to go on a brief summer hiatus at the beginning of August.

Meanwhile, Abby Huntsman is still on maternity leave after welcoming twins. She has promised to return sometime in the fall.
