  • Jessica Simpson shared two makeup-free selfies to Instagram.

  • Most fans loved the natural look.

  • But some accused her of having Botox or fillers.

While Jessica Simpson may be known for her glitz and glamour, she likes being fresh-faced too, proven in her not one, but two makeup-free selfies on Instagram this week. She posted one smiley shot to her Story, writing, “Rise and Shine,” and another to her grid with the caption: “Sunny kinda mornin’.”

Warm sunlight cascaded onto the star's face. And when the lighting is that good, you kind of have to snap a pic, right?

Under the grid post, many fans and followers thanked Simpson for being real and complimented her natural beauty. (That skin was glowing.)

“👏👏👏👏❤️❤️thank you for being so real! Still gorgeous without all the makeup!” one person commented. “So naturally beautiful! You are such an amazing example for women our age ❤️,” another wrote.

But of course, there were some people who had terrible things to say—criticizing the singer’s smile and accusing her of getting Botox or fillers. Simpson didn’t respond to the haters, but has opened up about undergoing cosmetic procedures in the past.

“I had that Restylane [lip filler] stuff. But it fades—it went away in like four months,” she told Glamour back in 2006. “My lips are back to what they were. Thank God! It looked fake to me. I didn’t like that.”

Instead, to keep her skin looking smooth and fresh, she swears by red light therapy. “I’m obsessed with doing red light therapy treatments at home,” she told Shape in January. “I place the anti-inflammatory device everywhere on my body, including my scalp, stomach, and boobs. I have fewer wrinkles at 40 than I did at 38!”

To stay moisturized and plump, she also religiously uses eye cream, the Epicuren Discovery Bio’s Peptide Complex Serum which she says is “like gold,” and the celeb favorite La Mer Moisturizing Cream (beloved but pricey).

“My skin was dehydrated when I was pregnant, and this moisturizer was the only thing that worked,” she told InStyle in 2015. “For every day, I use the lighter version.”
