Fans have mixed reaction about Colorado possibly returning to the Big 12 Conference

I don’t believe it’s physically possible for a buffalo to put its tail between its legs.

But the Colorado Buffaloes may have their metaphorical tails between their legs if they return to the Big 12 Conference. At least that’s according to some fans on Twitter, who had humorous reactions about a possible Big 12-Colorado reunion.

Colorado was a longtime member of the Big 8 and one of the founding schools when the Big 12 Conference was formed in 1996, but it left for the Pac-12 before the 2011 season.

Now it appears Colorado may return to the Big 12. ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported late Wednesday night that Big 12 presidents and chancellors “voted unanimously ... on a conference call to accept Colorado as a new member. Colorado still has not formally applied for Big 12 membership, which is expected to happen tomorrow.”

Brett McMurphy of the Action Network reported Colorado will be back in the Big 12 in 2024.

Colorado returning as a “new member” to a conference it left was the subject of jokes on Twitter. Here is a look at what those people were sharing on the social-media channel.

While some poked fun at Colorado for returning to the conference it left, others were thrilled to have the Buffaloes back in the Big 12.

This is what those fans were saying.
