Fans Rally for 'Dancing With the Stars's Derek Hough as Undergoes Appendix Surgery

Derek Hough experienced unbearable pain in his abdomen yesterday that required emergency surgery and his fans have been there for him. He explained the pain as “severe” and “sharp." They happened in the middle of the night around 3 AM. That's when he went to the hospital and found out he had appendicitis. "Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix, a finger-shaped pouch that projects from your colon on the lower right side of your abdomen," as stated by Mayo Clinic.

"Appendicitis causes pain in your lower right abdomen. However, in most people, pain begins around the navel and then moves." Hough found out he'd have to go into surgery immediately. Luckily, you can live just fine without it." After the surgery, Hough to took to Instagram and left his fans the best possible gift despite the circumstances: a loopy post-anesthetic video.

“Woke up at 3am with a severe and a sharp pain in my abdomen. Knew something wasn’t right,” Hough wrote alongside a video of himself dancing in a hospital gown.“Turned out it was appendicitis and had surgery to remove my appendix straight away. This is me immediately after, still a little (a lot) medicated, giving [Hayley Erbert] a (sexy) little dance.” His girlfriend, Haley Ebert was right by his side the whole time. Hough also recorded some intimate dialogue between him and Haley.

“Me: ‘Is this doing it for you babe?’ Hayley: ‘So hot.’ Thank you for lying to me babe,” Hough wrote out on Instagram. Hayley has a positive attitude about the situation and made light of it on social media. “Wherever we go, there’s a partayyy,” she wrote on a photo that captured the amusing post-surgery incident. Luckily, the dancer seems to have had a successful surgery and is back to what he loves doing most even in the hospital: dancing.

Fans were quick to show their support for the 34-year-old 'DWTS' alumn. “Get well soon bro. And pick me up one of those badass gowns,” singer, Gavin DeGraw wrote. “Feel better soon!!!” former DWTS alum and Olympian, Amy Purdy wrote with some emojis. “Super glad you’re okay!! Praying for a speedy recovery,” added another fan. “Love the couture,” added another with a laughing emoji. “Aww!! I hope you’re feeling better soon!! I’m wishing you a speedy and successful recovery!!” another fan chimed in.
