Over the weekend, Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet's new movie, Dune, hit screens. Like us, fans of the duo were excited to see them star in the film together, after all the intense promo and red carpet appearances. It came as a very unwelcome surprise then to find out that Zendaya only has seven minutes of screen time in the whole film. Yep, seven.

Understandably, fans took to Twitter to share their disappointment over the Euphoria star's lack of screen time. "The credits were longer than Zendaya's camera time in Dune," said one upset viewer, as another added "They had Zendaya on press tour as if she has more than 5 minutes on screen," and a third wrote "Dune better get a sequel the way Zendaya has been put to work for the promo." A fourth viewer tweeted "So I went into that new movie Dune expecting Zendaya to serve per usual the way they had her promoting it... just for her to have 10 minutes of screen time in a 2 hour movie."

Here's a few more reactions...

Despite her very short time on screen, Zendaya still turned it out, with plenty of fans commenting on her performance. "It only took 7 minutes for Zendaya to steal the whole damn movie anyway," tweeted one viewer.

Dune is an adaption of the 1965 novel by author Frank Herbert and is directed by Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 filmmaker, Denis Villeneuve. Herbert's book is set in the distant future and revolves around warring families who each rule over individual planets. Humans rely on a rare drug called spice, which can only be found on the planet Arrakis.

As it turns out, the book has been split into two parts for the movie, so fingers crossed we'll get to see more than seven minutes of Zendaya in the sequel.
