Fans like the run game in the Green Bay Packers' overtime victory over the New England Patriots

Just run the ball.

Well, maybe not "just."

But Green Bay Packers fans sure liked what they saw from running backs Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon in the 27-24 overtime victory Sunday over the New England Patriots.

Jones had 110 rushing yards on 16 carries and Dillon had 73 yards on 17 carries. About 1,200 fans in our postgame ratings gave the running backs the highest average score of any position group — 3.9 on a one-to-five scale.

The rest of the Packers got middling results — exactly what you'd expect from a performance in which they nearly lost to 1-2 team with a third-string rookie quarterback.

On offense, the line and receivers each got a 3.0 average score. Maybe the line deserved a little better, given the success Jones and Dillon had. The receivers had touchdowns from Romeo Doubs and Robert Tonyan, but Doubs also lost a fumble and had a go-ahead touchdown slip through his arms as he hit the turf on his diving attempt.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers got a 2.7, a reflection of an uneven performance that included an extremely rare — for Rodgers — pick-six.

The defensive ratings were similarly lackluster. The defensive backs and linebackers each got a 2.9, while the linemen get a 2.7. The Patriots' running backs had good games, too, totaling 167 yards, though the defense did force punts on New England's last three possessions.

The special teams got a 3.0, allowing 160 yards on kick and punt returns, and the coaches got the lowest score, at 2.6 — and that's only because we don't ask fans to rate the officials' ability to call a delay-of-game penalty when the ball is snapped two seconds after the play clock has expired.

Not that we're bitter about that or anything.
