Denmark’s soccer team notched a stunning 4-1 victory against Russia in Copenhagen on June 21, putting them through to the European Championship round of 16 against heavy odds.

Denmark needed to run up the score against Russia to have any chance of advancing. This footage shows jubilant fans in the stands of Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium after a long-range strike by Danish defender Andreas Christensen put Denmark up 3-1.

The win capped an emotional group stage for the Danish team, whose talisman Christian Eriksen collapsed after suffering a cardiac arrest during their opening match against Finland on June 12. Eriksen has since been released from the hospital.
