Fantasy Stock Watch - Tyler Boyd

Matt Harmon explains why the Cincy WR is falling in week 6.

MATT HARMON: Yeah, ironically enough you just hyped up Joe Burrow and talked about how great his receivers are, but I'm gonna to give the faller to one of his pass catchers. And it's Tyler Boyd. The biggest problem is exactly what you mentioned. The overall passing pie in Cincinnati is so much smaller than we thought it would be because they want to like, establish the run and protect Joe Burrow.

And I think that's probably good for Burrow overall. It is leading to some of this efficiency, but the overall target volume is just down for this passing game. And we've seen it so far with Tyler Boyd. In games without Tee Higgins, he has a 33.5% target share, which, again, it's a target share of a smaller pie anyway. So the overall volume is just not there.

But in games with Tee Higgins, he's got down to 20% of the targets. And he only has like a 6.4 aDOT anyways, so that's not great. He's a guy that needs a lot of volume to get home for your fantasy team.

The match-up with the Lions is good. I think you can start him as a low end flex play this week, but I think it's time to adjust your expectations for Tyler Boyd. He's not that great floor play like he has every single week because the overall passing volume in Cincinnati's down, and he's just not getting the juicy high equity targets like a guy like Ja'Marr Chase.
