The far-right internet personality known best as “Baked Alaska” was sentenced Tuesday to 60 days in jail for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Baked Alaska, whose real name is Anthime Gionet, pleaded guilty in July 2022 to a single count of parading, demonstrating or picketing inside a Capitol building. He’ll also serve two years of probation and pay a $2,500 fine.

Gionet, 35, live-streamed a video of himself and other supporters of then-President Donald Trump storming the Capitol building and marching through the halls and offices. One viewer presciently commented, “Baked you’re going to prison.”

In addition to serving as key evidence in the case against Gionet, the video also led directly to the prosecution of three New York City men who breached the Capitol.

Gionet has made it clear he doesn’t regret his actions. Though he didn’t address the court on Tuesday in Washington, he spoke outside the courthouse to say, “I still hold firm that I was there because I believe the election was fraudulent, and I believe people should have a right to speak freely as long as they are being peaceful.”

Until 2016, Gionet worked at BuzzFeed as a run-of-the-mill employee, before pivoting to a career as an alt-right video streamer and unabashed Trump supporter. He was scheduled to speak at the infamous white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., in 2017 before it devolved into violence.
