Farm-to-table pasta, wine and more: These are the new vendors at Burlington Farmers Market

In its countdown to the 2022 farmers market season, the Burlington Farmers Market has been featuring on social media a number of new vendors who will have stalls on Pine Street this year.

The new additions include a wine collective, a ginger beer producer, and a farm that indulges salad-lovers.

The Burlington Farmers Market's opening day is Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Below are some of the small businesses the market has featured so far.

Kalche Wine Cooperative

The cooperative out of Fletcher says it is broadening the definition of wine and "ditching the status quo," according to its website. "Paramount in this shift is addressing and dismantling racism, sexism, and colonialism in wine, which we are doing by amplifying and advocating for historically abused and marginalized voices in the industry," the website states. The three founders — Kathline Chery, Justine Belle Lambright, and Grace Meyer — represent some of those traditionally marginalized voices in the wine industry. Muriel's

Muriel's is a clothing business run by a mother-and-son duo out of Grand Isle. The business sources wool and other fibers from farms in Vermont and around New England to produce knitwear. More information can be found at murielsofvermont.com.

New Tradition Farm

New Tradition Farm is a "salad-focused," woman-owned farm in Richmond. All the produce from the farm can either be eaten in a salad or used in making salad dressings, according to the farmers market's Instagram post. Stoni Tomson, the farm's owner, calls the farm "salad paradise" on the business's website. More information can be found at newtraditionfarm.com.

Trenchers Farmhouse

Trenchers Farmhouse produces farm-to-table pasta and sauces out of their farm in Lyndonville. The farm calls itself the "Gastronomia of Vermont." In Italy, a Gastronomia is a local shop that sells specialty foods and prepared dishes. More information can be found at trenchersfarmhouse.com.

Valley Clayplain Forest Farm

The farm out of New Haven says it uses farming methods designed to keep a healthy relationship with the landscape, according to its website. The products they'll sell will likely include their black currant oxymel from cold-pressed currants grown on their farm, shiitake mushrooms, and other specialty fruits they've grown. Young at Heart Ginger Beer

The ginger beer at the center of this business is brewed and bottled in the Old North End of Burlington, according to its Instagram account. The founder started the business as a "fermentation passion project," but it has grown from there, the Burlington Farmers Market post said.
