Farm toys, farm memorabilia and farm fun: Ashland FFA Alumni show packs a crowd
ASHLAND − Two hours into the 33rd annual Ashland FFA Alumni Farm Toy Show the room was packed with shoppers filling week-before-Christmas wish lists.
Shoppers could choose from farm toys, farm memorabilia, signs, tractor manuals, magazines, dioramas and clothing in just about any brand, from Oliver to Allis-Chalmers.
As she perused the Allis-Chalmers farm toys, Lisa Steiner of Killbuck explained she and her husband Vern, who have made the trip here before, come to the Ashland show to pick out a collectible for him for Christmas.
"He likes his Allis-Chalmers," she said of her husband, an avid farm toy collector.
Diane Hale of Ashland County also was buying gifts for family. Shoppers like Hale and Steiner had over 100 tables of farm-themed collectibles to pick from. The show also offered a concession stand with food and drink available for a donation.
The annual show raises money to help send FFA students to contests and conferences.
