Farmers Feeding the Flock celebration

Nov. 10—GREENSBURG — The Decatur County Bread of Life hosted the organization's annual Farmers Feeding the Flock harvest dinner on Nov. 3.

Speakers were Tom Bechman from Indiana Prairie Farmer Magazine, Merrill Smith and Carl Kroger. Kroger is a 2018 graduate of South Decatur High School who has been involved in the Feeding the Flock fundraiser for several years.

A total of $66,166.14 was raised in 2023 by Fogg Family Farm and other sponsors — this is approximately $5,000 more than the $61,020.54 raised in 2022 by Shirk Family Farm and other sponsors.

Foist shared that the Bread of Life hopes to have a new family farm in spring 2024 to sponsor the fundraiser.
