New farmers’ market opens in West Sacramento

(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento is known as America’s Farm to Fork capital, which is a justified title when one considers all of the farmers’ markets in and near the city.

With the opening of a new farmers’ market in West Sacramento, the Farm to Fork label feels even more appropriate.

On Jan. 14, a farmers’ market opened in a West Sacramento city parking lot and is open year-round on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (subject to change due to weather).

According to the market’s Instagram page, the farmers’ market is located at 1271 West Capitol Avenue. Currently, spots for vendors are limited, but a recent Instagram post revealed that the market is looking for “reliable fruit and vegetable vendors.”

Vendor applications are open but limited. Interested members of the community can request more information about applying via private message on Instagram.
