Farmington Hills woman wins $1M on Michigan Lottery's 'The Big Spin' show

A Farmington Hills woman was in disbelief when she got a second chance at a Michigan Lottery Big Spin prize that ended up paying off big.

Karen Finger, 46, was chosen in a random drawing to participate in the Michigan Lottery's "The Big Spin" show after entering codes from non-winning The Big Spin tickets online.

"I was in complete disbelief when I got the call from the Lottery informing me that I was chosen as a 'The Big Spin contestant,'" Finger told the Michigan Lottery. "It took a while for it to sink in that the call was real and that I was going to be on 'The Big Spin' show."

Each selected player gets a chance to spin The Big Spin wheel and are guaranteed to win at least $100,000, but could win as much as $2 million.

When her turn came, Finger said it felt like the wheel was spinning forever before it landed on $1 million.

"Once it finally landed on $1 million, it felt like my heart stopped beating," she said. "It was the most unbelievable feeling I have ever experienced! Winning this prize is life changing. I plan to use the money to take a trip and complete some home improvements."

Finger was one of five players selected for the show. The second chance component of The Big Spin game has ended after 20 players were selected to appear on the show. Players won more than $10.5 million.
