A non-fungible token collection based on Farrah Fawcett's world-famous red bathing suit poster is on sale.

The Farrah Fawcett Foundation and MORE Management announced May 9 the NFT collection featuring the Corpus Christi native would be displayed at Resorts World Las Vegas and go on sale Tuesday through Sunday, according to a news release.

An NFT is a digital asset that represents real-world objects such as art, music, in-game items and videos. They are bought and sold online, frequently with cryptocurrency.

NFTs have been around since 2014 but saw explosive growth in popularity last year, with major companies and celebrities launching their own NFTs. They have also come under scrutiny from environmental activists because cryptocurrency mining and transactions generate high carbon emissions.

Farrah Fawcett's iconic poster is the best-selling of all time, with a record-breaking 12 million copies sold. The NFT collection includes limited-edition variations of the poster by NFT artist Elise Swopes.

The NFT will be displayed on the resort’s exterior screens, including a 100,000-square-foot screen visible on the Las Vegas Strip and across the valley, as well as indoors on the 50-foot diameter LED Globe in The District at Resorts World.

The highlight of the collection is a "one of one" NFT, the news release said.

It comes with a prize package for the winner including a stay at Resorts World Las Vegas, a museum-grade LED screen from Luma Canvas, two premier VIP tickets to the Farrah Fawcett Foundation Tex-Mex Gala in Dallas on Oct. 20, and a guarantee from the foundation the poster will never be replicated as a single NFT again.

Proceeds from the NFT sales will go to the Farrah Fawcett Foundation, a nonprofit established by Fawcett to support of HPV-related cancer research, prevention and awareness.
