Jenna Lyons, one of the newest 'Wives on The Real Housewives of New York City, was in her element for the 2023 Met Gala — but this time giving fashion commentary rather than rocking the red carpet herself.

The style icon wore one of her signature “power suits” as she was introduced at the desk on E! News. She paired it with a sheer pink tinted blouse underneath as well as pearls. Jenna also wore her hair in one of her most well-known ‘dos: a sleek bun.

The “girl boss” look is one she’s donned many times before, including at the 2016 Met Gala. Actress Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, a writer and producer for Dunham’s show Girls, appeared not in ballgowns, but in classic black suits with Jenna, and were said to be paying homage to the trendsetter.

All three also sported Jenna's signature glasses. She is known to wear “The Mensch” eyeglasses from Moscot (you can find them here if you want to copy her style!).

Jenna also surprised everyone by wearing J. Crew pajamas rather than a couture gown, at the 2015 Met Gala — but without her infamous glasses — according to Bustle. These were no ordinary PJs though: They were bedazzled with a chain overlay and sparkled with her gold heels and clutch.

Jenna will be a familiar face for many Housewives fans. She attended Parsons School of Design and began working at J.Crew as an assistant menswear designer when she was 21. During her 26-year tenure at J.Crew, she served as the president and executive creative director of the company before she left in 2017.

While at J. Crew, she became a fashion icon and inspiration to many for her way of mixing pearls and business with more quirky fashions. There’s even a Pinterest board — What Would Jenna Lyons Do?
