Fashion show, symphony performance; Things to do in Galesburg this weekend

Hidden Hills’ Hallo-Wine Bonfire

The witches of Hidden Hills Vineyard and Winery welcome all mortals to a spooky party in your honor Saturday, Oct. 29 from 7 to 10 p.m. Come in costume and consume wine cocktails, if you dare, as well as a curated blackout menu, featuring treats, new wine mixes, and Blood Bag Sangria Slushies. Come alive to music from Sean Kistler and experience a bonfire waiting just for you, with s’mores in store. All those who enter must be 21+ and ready for a wicked good time. Knox-Galesburg Symphony Premieres Masterworks

Experience the performance of Knox-Galesburg Symphony at the new, state-of-the-art Hegg Performing Arts Center at Galesburg High School on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. This performance, Masterworks 1: Hometown Melodies, features conductor, Kedrick Armstrong and pianist, Lorraine Min and will include Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor;Florence Price’s Ethiopia’s Shadow in America;as well as Antonin Dvorak’s American Suite in A major. Treat Street is Saturday in downtown Galesburg

Stroll through downtown Galesburg and visit the businesses handing out candy for the city’s annual Treat Street, running from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Families can start in Park Plaza or in the Sprinkle and Spoon parking lot to pick up a treat bag provided by the Downtown Community Partnership of Galesburg and a map of the participating businesses. Participating businesses will also be marked with orange traffic cones.

The Galesburg Community Art Center, 349 E Main St., will also be holding a pumpkin painting event at 1:30 p.m. that same day. Pumpkins cost $5 and supplies will be provided to paint them in the style of famous artist Yayoi Kusama. The event will run for as long as supplies lost.

Costume Contest at Prairie Moon Farm

Celebrate the last day of the season for Prairie Moon Farms on Sunday, October 30th, by attending the 2nd Annual Costume Contest! Put on your best costume and visit the farm anytime between 9:00a and 5:00p to be entered to win a sweet prize for three categories: Best Group Costume, Most Original Costume, and Cutest Costume. Receive a free mini pumpkin for showing up, dressed up! While you’re there, shop the vendors, pet the donkeys, and trick-or-treat around the farm!
