“Fast and Furious 9” has been delayed a second time and will now hit theaters May 28, 2021, Variety reported.
The ninth film in the “Fast and Furious” main saga was scheduled for release in May 2020 and was initially pushed to April 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Fast 9” has been delayed further because the next James Bond film, “No Time To Die,” is now scheduled for release April 2, 2021. Both films attract large international audiences, so Universal Studios didn’t want them to open the same weekend, according to Variety.
The eighth “Fast” film, “Fate of the Furious,” grossed $1.2 billion at the box office worldwide, with more than $1 billion of that coming from its international release.
