Eastham woman, 47, dies in rollover crash Sunday in Wellfleet

WELLFLEET — A 47-year-old Eastham woman was identified as the driver in a fatal rollover car crash Sunday in the area of Route 6 and Old Wharf Road.

The only occupant of the vehicle, Juliette Brown, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release from the Wellfleet Police Department.

The crash was discovered at daylight Sunday, leading investigators to conclude it occurred earlier but that due to darkness was not visible from Route 6.

The vehicle had left the northbound lane of Route 6 and rolled over before coming to rest on its side in a driveway, the release said. Arriving police officers found that the victim had been ejected from the car.

Anyone who may have heard or witnessed any activity in the area of Route 6 and Old Wharf Road between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Sunday is asked to contact the Wellfleet Police Department at 508-349-3702. The crash is currently under investigation by the Wellfleet Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.
