Fatal crash leaves one dead, two others with life-threatening injuries near Moab

MOAB, Utah (ABC4) — One person is dead and two others are in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a head-on collision Tuesday on SR-191 near Moab.

Utah Highway Patrol released information Wednesday on a head-on crash that left a 46-year-old female driver dead. The female driver was headed southbound in a Toyota Camry with a juvenile passenger around 8 p.m. when officials say a male driver of a northbound Chevrolet Equinox crossed the center line and hit the vehicle head-on.

The juvenile passenger of the southbound vehicle and the male driver of the northbound vehicle were both transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Lane closures were in effect for several hours following the crash as UHP officials investigated the incident.

The woman’s identity and any additional factors leading to the crash have not been released.
