1 dead after car drives off interstate ramp, landing on roof on train tracks, troopers say
A fatal crash was reported late Friday night in Huntersville, fire department officials tweeted.
A vehicle overturned on I-485 near Old Statesville Road on train tracks below the overpass.
Crews responded to Independence Hill Road at about 10:30 p.m. and found the vehicle where a victim was pinned in.

The driver of a Kia, Derrick Macellus Mawell Jr, of Charlotte, was on the outer loop near Exit 23.
The Kia ran off the road, struck a sign, a fence and dropped from the interstate.
It overturned in the air before landing on its roof on the train tracks, troopers said.
No one else was involved in the wreck.
