Fatal motorcycle crash claims the life of Dresden man

CAMBRIDGE — Troopers from the Cambridge post of the Ohio Highway Patrol are investigating a two-vehicle crash that resulted in one fatality and one other occupant seriously injured. The crash occurred at 2:19 p.m. Sunday on Ohio 209 in Guernsey County.

A motorcycle driven by David Bathrick, 55, of Dresden, was traveling eastbound on Ohio 209 when he traveled left of center and struck a pickup and trailer driven by Joshua Eby, 38, of New Concord. Bathrick was pronounced dead at the scene. Heather Bathrick, 53 of Dresden, was a passenger on the motorcycle and was transported to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus for injuries sustained as a result of the crash. Eby was not injured in the crash.

Troopers were assisted on the scene by New Concord Fire Department and EMS, Castle Station, Cambridge Fire Department, Guernsey County Sheriff's Office, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The crash remains under investigation.
