Boiling Spring Lakes police and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are continuing to investigate a shooting that left one man dead last week.

According to a Friday news release from the Boiling Spring Lakes Police Department, Hiram Jay Willetts, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting near Windemere and Masters drives in the evening hours of Jan. 6.

Willetts was a resident of Boiling Spring Lakes. Police said Friday an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
