A 70-year-old South Windsor man was killed early Wednesday when the moped he was driving collided with a pickup truck on Route 30 in Vernon near highway ramps for I-84.

The crash happened just before 6 a.m., police said. A Dodge Ram driven by Kevni Delorge, 50, of Vernon collided with a moped operated by Owen Wright. Delorge was taken to Rockville General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries; Wright was also taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No charges have been filed but the accident remains under investigation, police said.

The crash led to Route 30 being closed for several hours Wednesday morning.
