Father-son duo eyes spring opening for brewery in downtown Huntersville
Huntersville’s newest craft brewery is a family affair.
Father-and-son team Wagner and Trey Ramsey are behind 760 Craft Works, which is targeting a mid- to late April opening. It’s at 102 Gilead Road — the former location of the Huntersville Police Department.
“We want to bring something different to the table,” Wagner Ramsey says.
Brewing is something they’re passionate about. Wagner Ramsey started home brewing in the early 1990s after a long career in the beverage industry, supplying cans to brewers.
“I just got the itch and said, ‘I’m going to brew my own beer,’” he says.

Before long, he noticed his son looking over his shoulder as he brewed. His son’s interest would last, even leading him to gain his Cicerone certification.
Both have settled in Cornelius, sparking the idea of launching their own venture. In 2016, they purchased a commercial pilot system and began putting plans in place for their own brewery.
“I liked the idea of investing in a family business,” Trey Ramsey says.
The goal is to create a hyper-local venue that becomes a neighborhood gathering spot.
