Father and son in Placer County plane crash died doing what they love
Tony Wright Senior, 80, and Tony Wright Junior, 55, were known as the ‘Two Tonys’ at the Auburn Municipal Airport. The father and son from Meadow Vista loved flying. But even more, they loved flying together. “They were best friends in life and they were not separated in death,” said Mena Hoopes, Tony Senior’s daughter and Tony Junior’s sister. The father and son died after their plane crashed shortly after takeoff around 10 a.m. Friday morning.
