Father, sons open tire shop

Nov. 7—There's a reason the new tire shop at 1121 W. Seventh St. in Clovis is called "Dimmitt Tire."

Durado Acuña said his sons, Issac and Adan, opened "Dimmitt Tire" in Dimmitt, Texas, in March. Now, Dad has joined them, opening a second "Dimmitt Tire" in Clovis.

Acuña may be familiar to some in the community.

"I had been part of Brothers Tire for close to 24 years. But I sold my interest there so I could open this shop with my sons," Acuña said.

Acuña has good feelings about the venture.

"I feel great with my sons taking the next step. I'm glad they like to work with me," Acuña said.

The store is offering new and used tires, oil changes, brake and rotor work.

The first Dimmitt Tire in Texas will also remain open, according to Acuña. Dimmitt is about 50 miles east-northeast of Clovis.
