Details: Stoikov said that 30 high-rise buildings and 11 private family homes, as well as several medical and educational institutions, were destroyed in the city.

However, a multi-storey building in the centre suffered the most severe damage.

"Two floors were completely destroyed; there were a couple of apartments and a crosspiece between them. There is nothing there now; the missile hit the wall and two crosspieces were crushed into dust," Stanislav said.

The residents on social media said that a young man, Danylo, died in one of the apartments. His father tried to resuscitate him but could not.

The deceased's wife, Diana, is currently being searched for, her neighbour Olena Pavlova-Deryvedmid said. Diana is under the rubble, which is still being sorted out. The mother of the deceased is in intensive care. It is known that the young couple recently got married and lived with the husband's parents.

A neighbour of this family told Suspilne media outlet that he woke up to a blow and his wife's screams. He said the woman's legs were covered in glass, and the man shook it off and saw the wounds on his hands.

Vladyslava, a resident of the damaged building, said that they went to the corridor after the first explosion, and they ran to shelter after the second one.

"We heard the windows shattering. We were scared. We ran out into the yard in our pyjamas and ran through the rubble to the basement, where the shelter was. We sat there for a while," she said.

Windows frames, balconies front and interior doors were smashed, and furniture was knocked over in the apartment of Oleksii Klymenko, who also lived in the house.

"We started cleaning up. I went down to the yard, and my wife was cleaning. Somehow, we closed the windows in the apartment. We went out into the yard, and we were told to pack things out. We took the most necessary things," Oleksii says.

Yelyzaveta, a resident of Zaporizhia, wrote on social media that her family was miraculously saved from the destroyed apartment. The woman said that only one room survived, in which the family slept.

"We are alive, although there is nothing left of our apartment. We had such a beautiful house with friendly people. Our neighbours died, and people are still being searched for, and I still don't know how to live on," the woman wrote.

Oleksii Davydenko, the owner of the Medtechnika (medical equipment) chain of stores, opened a store a month ago on the first floor of the destroyed building.

"Tonight, an enemy S-300 destroyed a huge residential building, including our first store," he says.

The businessman says they had already lost stores in Mariupol, Kharkiv and Kherson in the first months of the war.
