‘Fauda’ creators to headline Jewish Federation event

The co-creators of the Israeli television series “Fauda” will headline the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s virtual kickoff event to its 2021 annual campaign.

Journalist Avi Issacharoff and actor Lior Raz, who both drew on their experiences in the Israel Defense Forces when developing the series, which is available on Netflix, will be the guest speakers for The Opening Event taking place at 8 p.m. on Oct. 13.

Helene Paul, who is co-chairing the event with her husband, Rick Paul, and with Lauren and Justin Hertzberg, said in a news release that the series' creators “will take us deep inside ‘Fauda’ and today’s Israel.”

“We’ll also get an inside look at the incredible difference we are making together for so many in our Jewish family near and far,” Helene Paul continued. “In this unprecedented time, our Federation partnerships with our agencies, schools and synagogues have never been stronger.”

Lauren Hertzberg said in the news release, “This night is for all of us who care about the community and our Jewish people, especially now when our Federation’s need is greater than ever."

A minimum household gift of $500 to the 2021 UJA/Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s annual campaign is required to view the event.
