Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office arrests 56 repeat offenders in multi-day operation

FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. – According to authorities, more than 50 criminals now sit behind bars in Faulkner County after a multi-agency police operation.

Officials said Operation Early Harvest was conducted from Mar. 12 to 15. In total, the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office was able to put 56 repeat offenders in jail.

Sheriff Tim Ryals said the targets of the operation were violent criminals with outstanding warrants. Between the 56 individuals, there were 41 felony charges and 51 misdemeanors.

“It shows our community, and it shows the remainder of the state that in Faulkner County, we take it serious,” the sheriff said.

Ryals said plans for the operation started months ago, enlisting the help of the Mayflower Police Department, Conway Police Department, Arkansas State Police and the U.S. Marshals Office.

“The success of these operations are dependent on multiple agencies working together,” U.S. Marshal Cory Harris said.

Officials said some of the warrants were very recent, and others have been outstanding for years, listing crimes including aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, kidnapping and other charges.

Ryals said the arrests serve as a reminder to the community that law enforcement will do what they can to keep everyone safe.

“When a community takes a look at what we are doing and what just occurred, it’s a deterrent in some fashion that will keep some of this out of our community,” he said.

The sheriff’s office and U.S. officials said this was the county’s first operation of the year but it certainly won’t be the last.

“If you are a felon with an outstanding warrant, you might want to turn yourself in,” U.S. Attorney Jonathan Ross said. “My message to the public: there’s more to come.”
