On this episode of In the Know: Beauty School, celebrity makeup artist and host, Kirin Bhatty (@kirinstagram), shares her favorite cream and liquid makeup products and shows us the best ways to apply them. Creams and liquids are integral to every makeup kit, but not all creams and liquids are made equal! With these tips and tricks, you’ll know the best creams and liquids to buy and you’ll know how to utilize them to look your very best.

Bhatty leads things off with the Violette_FR Yeux Paint liquid eyeshadow. “The great thing about liquid is that you have a little time to move it around, because it’s got some give,” explains the host as she paints the eyeshadow onto the model’s eyelids. “But then it sets, and it won’t move.”

Next, it’s time to add some cream contour. Bhatty reaches for the Tower 28 Bronzino Illuminating Cream Bronzer. She uses a brush to apply the cream to the hollow of the model’s cheek, as well as her forehead and jawline. Then, using a beauty blender, the host blends the contour to provide “real definition.”

With the contour blended, Bhatty moves on to cheeks! “I love a cream cheek, [and] I want you to love a cream cheek as well,” she says, as she picks up one of her favorite products, the Makeup By Mario Soft Pop Blush Stick. Bhatty adds the blush to the apples of the model’s cheeks, moving up towards the hairline. Bhatty’s cream cheek hot tip? Add some blush to the bridge of the nose for a “super, sunkissed cheeky look all the way through.”

Bhatty’s next go-to product is the Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up! Cream Highlighter. “I’ve had it in my kit for years,” shares the makeup artist. “I love it.” Bhatty applies the highlighter directly on the model’s orbital bone in a circular motion, then blends it out using a makeup sponge. She then adds the highlighter to the inner part of the model’s eyes, which is one of her “favorite techniques to open the whole face up.” She rounds out her highlighter routine by adding some to the model’s Cupid’s bow, and adds some under the eyebrows to make them pop and help the eyeshadow shine.

Last but not least, it’s time to tackle the lips! Bhatty loves the Dior Addict Lip Glow, specifically in “Raspberry,” and she applies the colorful balm to the model’s lips to close out the cream and liquid-led look.
