As much as some of us wish we could be the sort of person who wakes up early enough to prepare a lavish breakfast at home, life gets in the way. For days like that, fast food breakfast is the answer. It's quick, it's easy, and most of all, it's delicious. But not all chain breakfasts are created equal. We asked our very opinionated team of Delish editors for their thoughts on the best fast food breakfast, as well as scoured the Internet to find the very strong opinions of the general public. Carl’s Jr
The menu at Carl’s Jr is filled with great breakfast sandwich options, from the grilled cheese to the Bacon Beast Biscuit. But none of those compare the breakfast burger. With a charbroiled all-beef patty, crispy bacon, egg, American Cheese, Hash Rounds, and ketchup on a seeded bun, it’s a true meal. “That burger will always be my favorite. Can't beat the hash brown rounds inside of the burger,” one Reddit user raved. “Now that's innovation!”
Jack in the Box
Jack in the Box has a surprisingly long menu when it comes to the a.m. menu. But the internet is obsessed with their breakfast jacks. All three varieties come with a freshly cracked egg and melted cheese on a soft bun, but the original has ham, while the other options have sausage or bacon. “Breakfast Jacks are great,” this Reddit user said. “I think it’s about the actual fried egg.”
Sonic
The good thing about Sonic breakfast is it is served 24/7 in most locations. “Their breakfast is actually the star of the menu,” this Reddit user said. “The Ultimate Meat and Cheese breakfast burrito is probably my favorite fast food breakfast.”
Five Guys
Five Guys is a bit of a sleeper on this list. Yes, we know they can make incredible burgers, but how about a breakfast sandwich from them? It’s pretty simple with any combo of egg, cheese, and bacon on a bun, but worth checking out.

This may be shocking to hear, but people love the breakfast burrito at Burger King. “The burrito is pretty fire,” this TikTok creator said. “Hash browns, bacon, cheese, eggs, a good ratio of everything. It’s pretty good, not gonna lie.” Another fan on TikTok even recommended dipping it into maple syrup for a sweet and savory combo.
Taco Bell
“My love of Taco Bell breakfast is an unhealthy addiction,” this redditor wrote. “Get the potato bowl for a dollar and an AM crunchwrap meal.” People love this Mexican chain breakfast for its affordability and shockingly delicious options. “I’m addicted to the Grande Scrambler and pretty much live for my TB breakfasts,” another redditor wrote. “By far the king of breakfast burritos.”
Chick-fil-A
“I’ve recently discovered the greatness of Chick-fil-A Chicken Minis,” one reddit user wrote, referring to their famous chicken nuggets tucked inside a yeast roll. “And my goodness, are they amazing.” And people are also obsessed with the chicken biscuit sandwich. “That chicken biscuit though, out of this world,” another user said. And Delish editors agree. “McDonalds Hash browns!” Izabela Campos, assistant social media editor, said. “Hot, greasy, crunchy, and perfect with a little packet of ketchup or ‘hot’ sauce.” Our director of motion graphics, Vineet Sawant, is obsessed with the sausage McMuffin. He eats it “every Jan 1 for the last eight years. Don't ask why, don't know why.”
The sausage McMuffin is a crowd favorite, with some people even suggesting putting a packet of jam in the sandwich. “Sounds weird but it's the perfect blend of buttery salty and sweet,” this redditor said.
