Each day, millions of families don’t know how they will be able to put food on the table. More than 37 million people face hunger and food insecurity in the U.S., with children being the most affected group. Unfortunately, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and countless jobs vanishing, that number will rise in 2020.

It’s estimated that nearly 16 percent of the country—54.3 million people—won’t have access to enough food for their families this year. Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief program, has long been making strides to put an end to food insecurity through education and a nationwide network of food banks. And while there’s no one approach to ending hunger, volunteering and donating to organizations like Feeding America brings us all a step closer to ensuring every person has access to food.
