GHENT, WV (WVNS) — Every year, Super Bowl Sunday is surrounded around family, friends, football, and most importantly food.

But the real question is, what is the most popular Super Bowl food here in the Mountain State? A new analysis of Google search data finds that throughout the nation, the top foods for the Super Bowl include chili, buffalo chicken dip, guacamole, pigs in a blanket, and spinach and artichoke dip. Also according to this study, the fan favorite of the Mountain State is buffalo chicken dip.

According to another study, couponbirds, chicken wings are the preferred game day snack in 34 states. Also included were the top 5 Super Bowl snacks by the search index:

  • Chicken wings: 19

  • Burger: 15

  • Cookie: 15

  • Chips: 8

  • Sliders: 6

This same study also talks about another fan favorite, which is pizza for the Super Bowl as well. According to this study, Pizza Hut is West Virginia’s favorited pizza for the Super Bowl.

One viewer named Brenda Faye Godfrey said “Tacos and nachos,” while another viewer, Lyn Lewis said, “Pizza and wings.” John Harris typed, “If its such a super bowl, we can have ice cream or cereal or even chili in it!” Geneva Worley added, “Football dip!!” LaShala Eagle also contributed by typing, “Walking tacos,” while Kevin Falls said, “Wings and chips and dip.”
