Favorites move on as Lebanon County Legion playoffs open

The Lebanon County American Legion baseball playoffs opened on Tuesday night and form held true, with all of the higher seeded teams emerging victorious in the seven-team, double-elimination tourney.

No. 2 seed Annville led the way an 11-1 five-inning defeat of No. 7 Richland, while third-seeded Campbelltown beat No. 6 Myerstown 10-0 and No. 4 5th Ward blanked Conrad Weiser 5-0 to set up a meeting with top-seeded regular season champ Fredericksburg, which earned a first-round bye, tonight.

What follows is tonight's full schedule:

Richland vs. Myerstown, at Lyle Krall Field, 5:45 p.m. (elimination game)

Campbelltown at Annville, 5:45 p.m.

5th Ward at Fredericksburg, 7 p.m.

Play will continue each night this week until a champion is crowned to represent Lebanon County in the Region 4 tourney at Red Lion later this month.
