Fayetteville man charged in May 2 shooting death off Raeford Road

A Fayetteville man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in a shooting death May 2 off Raeford Road, the Fayetteville Police Department said in a news release Monday.

Jermaine Tyrone Cartrette, 37, of Fayetteville, was taken into custody after a "concerned citizen" called in his location, the release said.

Cartrette is charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon in the May 2 death of Terence Hogue, 30, of Fayetteville, the release said.

Hogue was found dead about 4:30 a.m. May 2 in the driver's seat of a parked vehicle in the 1200 block of Kienast Drive, police previously reported. Police said an altercation preceded the shooting.
