Fayetteville man arrested by US Marshals in 2021 Raeford slaying

A Fayetteville man was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Thursday in a 2021 slaying in Raeford, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office said.

Dennis Locklear Jr., 20, of the 1000 block of Wildwood Drive, is charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony conspiracy in the May 16, 2021, killing of Davion McQueen, 21, of Raeford, according to a news release. McQueen was shot in the 100 block of Seagull Drive about 8 p.m. He died at Cape Fear Valley Hospital from his injuries, the release said. The autopsy states McQueen died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Locklear Jr. was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Service at his home Thursday about 2:30 p.m., spokesman Brian Alfano said Friday.

Locklear is the second person arrested in McQueen's killing. Keshandre McLean, 28, was arrested the day after the shooting on a charge of first-degree murder. He remained in the Hoke County jail Friday without bail, according to jail records.

Locklear Jr. is also being held in the Hoke County jail without bail, the release stated.
