Fayetteville man charged with murder in Wade beating death

A Fayetteville man was arrested Tuesday in a November beating death in Wade, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Kareem Jamal Butler, 50, is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Christopher William Torok, 54.

Torok was found dead at his home in the 6000 block of River Road on Nov. 11. An autopsy determined his cause of death was blunt force trauma, the Sheriff's Office said.

Butler is being held in the Cumberland County jail without bail.
