Fayetteville restaurant, barbershop destroyed in early morning fire

A restaurant and barbershop in Fayetteville were destroyed in a large fire early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called to 702 N. Reilly Road around 1:05 a.m, according to the Fayetteville Fire Department. When they arrived, flames could be seen from the roof of the structure, which is shared between Gyro Kings restaurant and ACC Sports Cuts barbershop.

Due to the severity of the fire when crews first arrived, firefighters used a "defensive fire attack," according to the Fire Department. It took firefighters around 30 minutes to put out the flames.

The fire is believed to have caused around $95,000 in damage, according to the Fire Department.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
